About Continuing Education

With a variety of programs running throughout the year, it is our goal to support lifelong learning for students of all ages.
Our programs include: International and Indigenous Languages (offered at both the Elementary and Secondary levels), English as a Second Language(ESL)/Language Instruction for Newcomers(LINC) and Academic Upgrading & Employment Preparation Literacy and Basic Skills(LBS), Night and Summer School Secondary Credit Programs, Adult pathway planning toward an OSSD, Literacy and Numeracy Support programs, MacSkimming Outdoor Education and Bill Mason Outdoor Centres and Adult Cooperative Education and Independent Study Courses.

Summer School eLearning

Virtual Summer International Languages Classes (Grade 1-8)
Class Dates: Thursday, July 2 - Friday, July 24, 2020
The OCDSB is offering Virtual Summer International Languages Classes through the Continuing Education department for children in Grades 1 to Grade 8 currently registered in the 2019-2020 IILP program. For more information please visit InternationalLanguagesinOttawa.com or contact iilp@ocdsb.ca

International Language Summer Camps
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summer Language Camp program of 2020 is cancelled. The IILP office will contact families who have already registered their children in the Summer Language Camps and proceed with the fee reimbursement process. For more information please email

Night School 
Registration for the Fall 2020 Night School Session will start at the end of August. More information will be posted here and at
NightSchoolinOttawa.com in early August. Please email contedcredit@ocdsb.ca for more information.

Adults Get Your High School Diploma
Earn your Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or prepare for college/university entrance. In addition to Night School, we also offer Co-operative Education, Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition (PLAR), Mature Student Evaluation (MSE), and Independent Study. ESL & LINC
Registration for September will be open in July. More information will be posted at ESLinOttawa.com. Please email ESL@ocdsb.ca for more information.

LBS (Literacy & Basic Skills)
Registration for Academic Upgrading and Workplace Training classes will begin mid-August for the September 2020/2021 school year. If you are on a waiting list for any of the classes you will be contacted. If you would like to be on a waiting list for any of the programs, please contact lbs@ocdsb.ca.

International Language Classes (Elementary & Secondary)
We are working out the details for online registration for Fall 2020. An online registration form will be available in July or August. For more information please visit InternationalLanguagesinOttawa.com or contact iilp@ocdsb.ca.
