As "The School That Works", Sir Guy Carleton S.S. focuses on providing opportunities for students to explore their interest in trades and develop important skills valued in the workplace.  To that end, we offer a wide range of skilled trades courses which include:

kills Major (SHSM)?

Grade 11 & 12 students focus on a career path that matches their skills, interests and talents while earning their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD).

Key Benefits: 
Diploma with "Specialist" Designation
Relevant skill development through Co-operative Education
Industry Recognized Certifications (First Aid, WHMIS, CPR etc.)

SHSM Program Components:
Bundle of 7 - 9 credits (grade 11 & 12 including 2 Coop)
Industry Sector recognized certifications (Plant Identification, Safe Food Handling,
Vehicle Lift Safety etc.)
Experiential Learning (Co-operative Education)
